Todays Chagga anguish is HIV/AIDS. Every Chagga individual in the town of Marangu knows of several people (both relatives and friends) who have died of AIDS. Those plagued by HIV are often abandoned by their own family. It is estimated that about two million Tanzanians are infected by HIV/AIDS. |
